Lauren’s Spotlight
What do you value most in others? How is that element present in your business?
This month we are introducing you to one of Milikowsky Tax Law’s Senior Attorneys, Lauren Suarez. Lauren Suarez is a San Diego native with a passion for tax. She has worked on the tax controversy side, as well as, on the tax preparation side for both businesses and individuals. Lauren has advised clients on various domestic and international tax planning, preparation, and controversy issues related to the IRS, EDD, CDTFA, and FTB. When she isn’t diving deep into the world of taxes, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. You can always find her out and about enjoying the San Diego sun.
We’ve asked Lauren what she values most in others and how this value is present in her business as a Tax Attorney. Here’s what she has to say…
The quality that I value most in others is honesty with a side of humor. Honesty is present in our business because we, as tax attorneys, cannot fully do our job if our clients are not 100% upfront and honest with us about every aspect of their finances, concerns, and livelihoods. If we do not have the full picture when we go before a tax agency to represent them it instantly creates a longer road to closing out their matter, which can sometimes hurt them in the end. The humor element is present in my representation of them because nobody calls us because they want to be our friends, so making them smile and laugh a little during a difficult situation helps our relationship with them, which in turn helps build trust in our attorney-client relationship.
